Costco buys 35-acre property for new Yorkville store

Costco has now purchased the land that will house its new warehouse store and gas station in Yorkville.

According to the Kendall County Tax Assessor’s Office, the 35-acre property off Route 34 and East Countryside Parkway was sold for approximately $4.6 million on April 17.

In January, the Yorkville City Council approved plans for the store, including a special use permit for the gas station. Then in February, the council approved a sales tax incentive agreement in which the city will reimburse Costco up to $10 million over the next 30 years…
