Severe thunderstorms & tornado risks for Texas Oklahoma Kansas next several days

STORM PREDICTION CENTER SHOWS SEVERE WEATHER RISK TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, KANSAS NEXT FEW DAYS

Severe thunderstorm risk is shifting to the west over the next few days to the Central & Southern Plains. The Storm Prediction Center is indicating a “slight risk” or a 15 percent chance for isolated or scattered severe thunderstorms. The main area of concentration will be across Western Texas, Western Oklahoma and into Kansas. Very warm unstable air will be covering this area. While we do lack the catalyst for a robust or more widespread severe weather outbreak, you can expect for scattered areas of sever thundertorms to develop during the afternoon and evening hours and continuing in some areas during the overnight. The main risk is going to be from the potential of strong damaging wind gusts of 50 to 65 mph along with hail and a low chance for an isolated torando or two.
