Mayor Bowser addresses juvenile arrests in Navy Yard, urges family involvement

WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said there were “a lot of marauding kids” in the Navy Yard neighborhood and along the waterfront Friday night, where police arrested six juveniles.

“Where are your kids?” she asked when 7News questioned her about Friday’s events at an unrelated press conference Monday.

“They shouldn’t be marauding around different entertainment districts, on the train, anything like that,” said Bowser. “We should have control of our kids as a community and as families. And when community and family don’t know where their kids are, the police will deal with them, and that’s what happened this weekend.”…
