Mayor Petty: Worcester moving forward on plan to rebuild Burncoat High School

WORCESTER ― The decision to officially kick off his reelection campaign at Burncoat High School was a calculated one by Mayor Joseph Petty.

Petty, who announced his plans to run for an eighth-term as mayor on April 22, stood outside the entrance of Burncoat, the same place where he first announced his candidacy for mayor 14 years ago.

“I did my first announcement right at this school, promising that I would be the mayor that would reconstruct schools,” Petty said. “I got South down, Doherty down and now we are doing Burncoat.”…
