Grandmother, 61, shot to death in Harlem: sources

HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) – A 61-year-old grandmother was fatally shot in Harlem on Tuesday, sources told PIX11 News.

It happened on Lenox Avenue around 10:20 p.m., according to the NYPD. Sources said a fight between two groups broke out.

The grandmother then left the apartment building she lived in to check on her grandson after hearing gunshots, according to sources. At least 10 shell casings were seen at the scene.

Sources said a 23-year-old man, who was shot in the foot, was taken into custody as a person of interest. His relationship with the 61-year-old grandmother is unknown, according to sources…
