( KRON ) — An Oakland man was sentenced Tuesday to nearly six years in federal prison for illegally owning hundreds of rounds of ammunition and several guns — including two loaded assault rifles, two guns with high-capacity magazines, and a stolen firearm, said prosecutors.

Michael Tatum, 35, pleaded guilty on Jan. 23, 2024, to being a felon at the time of the incident, said prosecutors. During a search of his home in Feb. 2022, authorities seized five loaded firearms and approximately $148,531.05.
In addition to the 70-month prison term, Tatum was ordered to serve three years of supervised release and to relinquish the recovered guns, ammunition, and cash. His sentence begins July 22, 2025.
