Judge sends business owner who killed employee during confrontation to prison for 7 years

A Toledo businessman who fatally shot one of his employees during an alcohol-fueled confrontation last year at their workplace received a seven-year prison sentence from a Lucas County judge.

Eric Salmon, 44, of the 1200 block of Crestwood Road, maintained throughout the case that he acted in self defense when he shot Joshua Anders, 33, late in the evening of Feb. 29, 2024.

But Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros said Thursday afternoon that after reviewing video from the plumbing-related business that Salmon owned in the 400 block of West Laskey Road, he could not reach that absolute conclusion, even though he described Mr. Anders as “acting like a jerk” during the incident…
