BUFFALO, N.Y. — Dakarai Jackson Jr. was hoping to have a memorable, fun, social senior year in high school. About two minutes into the school year, he became ill and was diagnosed with Acute B-Cell Leukemia.
“I caught a fever and I was sick and we just thought it was a regular fever and it would blow over. I went back to school, but I wasn’t feeling normal. I was fatigued. I wasn’t eating,” he said.
