MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS ) – A controversial new transportation policy is coming to Rutherford County Schools. In a 4-to-3 vote, the school board approved “Parental Responsibility Zones,” or “PRZ’s”, shifting school transportation responsibilities to some families:
Beginning next school year, students in grades K through 5 who live within one mile of their school—and those in grades 6 through 12 within one and a half miles—will no longer be eligible for bus service. Parents in those zones will need to provide transportation.
