MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A tragic accident on South Church Street Thursday evening claimed the life of a young motorcyclist, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The collision occurred near the intersection of South Church Street and South Rutherford Boulevard. One report did indicate a sedan struck the motorcyclist, who sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital. Sadly, he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash. Following the collision, the vehicle reportedly caught fire, prompting police to further shut down the roadway to ensure public safety. Traffic was rerouted as emergency crews worked the scene…
