Roadwork begins Sunday on six-mile stretch of I-69 in Fort Wayne with intermittent lane closures

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Work on a major highway construction project is expected to get underway Sunday in Fort Wayne according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).

The work will be done on a six-mile long stretch of I-69 from the S.R. 3/U.S. 27/Lima Road exit at mile marker 311 to the Union Chapel Road exit at mile marker 317. Crews will be resurfacing asphalt and working on other highway improvements. INDOT noted in a press release that motorists can expect intermittent lane closures.

During construction, there will be a 55 mph speed limit in the work zone, with a reduced speed limit of 45 mph when crews are working. A majority of the work in this area will be completed during the overnight hours and weekends.
