LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The NAACP Lansing Branch is calling on elected officials to intervene in what it says is an illegal attempt to evict residents of Kristana Mobile Home Park in Dewitt Twp.
“This is not just a housing issue — it is a civil rights issue,” wrote the organization in a press release obtained by 6 News. “When landlords exploit loopholes, misrepresent occupancy, and leave families without basic services like water and sewer, they violate the dignity and humanity of residents who already face barriers to fair and stable housing.”
Residents of the park have previously told 6 News they received notice the park was shutting down on short notice at the beginning of April, due to declining occupancy rates and the inability to maintain the park.
