A homeless teen in Leesburg was arrested on drug charges when an anonymous caller at a Leesburg hotel reported him smoking narcotics near his truck.
Officers responded to Sleep Inn Leesburg Chain of Lakes, located at 2476 Citrus Blvd., regarding a suspicious person at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. An anonymous caller stated his white truck was parked at this hotel, and an unknown person, later identified as 19-year-old Logan Dale Adams, was near it smoking narcotics.
Upon arrival, the officers observed three subjects near a white truck, one of which began to quickly walk away as law enforcement drove into the parking lot. The officers walked toward the subject walking away, and he quickly threw his backpack that he was wearing under a nearby truck. An officer saw this and verbally detained him, identifying the subject as Adams, the report said.
While speaking with Adams, he stated he quickly walked away from the officers due to being nervous. He threw his backpack on the ground because marijuana was in his possession, the report said…
