Man Injured in Industrial Accident at Otay Mesa Loading Docks, San Diego Police Investigating

An industrial accident left one man injured in the Otay Mesa neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at the loading docks of a business located at 2451 Britannia Boulevard, where a 28-year-old male, operating a 2013 black Peterbilt tractor, struck a 54-year-old pedestrian while maneuvering the vehicle, according to information released by the San Diego Police Department.

The tractor operator was reportedly straightening his rig after backing up and did not see the older man walking in front of the tractor. This sequence of unfortunate events led to the collision that fractured the pedestrian’s leg. Officer J. Perales, Watch Commander of the San Diego Police Department, noted in a press release that the injuries are not considered life-threatening and that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
