Illinois Landscaping Hero Saved Woman from Drowning in Pond

You never know when you might end up in a situation where you need to become a hero. That just happened recently to a man working on a landscaping project in Illinois who became a hero after a woman in Naperville veered off of a nearby road and drove into a pond.

Great story just shared by CBS in Chicago. They tell the story of Tino Mora who was working on landscaping for a family in Naperville, Illinois. They reported that Tino heard the crash before he saw the car in the pond. When he saw her through the window of the car, he said he instinctively jumped into the water to save her without even thinking. He knew that if he took the time to call rescuers, they wouldn’t be able to arrive in time to save her, so he did instead.

Tino Mora said that the woman was banging on the windows when he reached her so he opened the car door and water immediately flooded the vehicle. He then pulled her up by her coat and held her head up above the water as he took her to land. Her husband later told authorities that she does not know how to swim, so she would have had no chance if not for Tino Mora’s fast action…
