Addison Kleinke taking to the air is no new thing.
The state’s best-ever girls pole vaulter, Kleinke has had a vice grip on the Oregon high school record since she was a freshman. It’s a mark that she’s pushed up to 14 feet, 1/2 inch.
But on Friday at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays, the Churchill junior showed that she’s capable of a lot more than pole vaulting.
On just her second attempt at the long jump, Kleinke soared for 19 feet, 0.5 inches. While she scratched on her next four jumps, the mark was enough for first place as Jefferson’s Genevieve Tebeau was second with 18-10…
