SOCASTEE, S.C. (WPDE) — The Socastee Heritage Festival celebrated its 15th year with a vibrant turnout, drawing over 3,000 attendees. The event was held last Saturday of April, featured more than 200 vendors, three stages for live entertainment, and family-friendly activities such as bounce houses and a petting zoo.
This year’s festival was dedicated to Dennis Reynolds, a beloved chairman of the Socastee Heritage Foundation, who passed away earlier this year. The foundation, a nonprofit organization, aims to preserve local history and support the community.
“The Socastee Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit entity and our whole goal is to pay off the Sarvis House, keep it from becoming the next 7 Eleven or Circle K, and keep the history in Myrtle Beach, the history of Myrtle Beach and also to give back to the community,” said Duane Farmer, co-chairman of the foundation…
