Rockford teen and dog qualify for Junior World Championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – 18-year-old Grace Anderson and her 5-year-old Border Collie Lane have qualified for the Junior World Agility Team in Portugal.

Dog agility is a sport where you direct your dog through pre-set obstacle course within a certain time limit, according to the American Kennel Club. Courses have 14-20 obstacles, which can include tunnels, weave poles, tire jumps, seesaws and pause tables where the dog must stop for a set amount of time.

Grace and Lane are among the 24 handlers and 29 dogs selected to be on the United States Open Agility World Team, getting the opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage and represent team USA.
