SALEM, Ore. – For the first time in program history, the Corban University Men’s and Women’s Track & Field programs hosted an outdoor meet at the foot of campus within the confines of the Outdoor Athletic Complex and saw a handful of special occasions take place, many of which for a first time as program records were broken, new national top marks were achieved, and a legendary head coach was honored at the inaugural Nancy & Norm Berney Classic.
“Today was a historic day for the Warrior track and field team,” began Corban head coach Todd Bos when asked to discuss the incredible day at the OAC. “The first outdoor meet on the new facility, honoring Coach Berney who continues to leave a Godly legacy for the team, and some great performances.”
Coach Bos continued with his thoughts on today’s events by sharing, “First of all, a tremendous thank you for all the work put in by the team, assistant coaches, and Corban administration to make this event happen. We finally got to honor our seniors at a home meet and show the Corban community what our hard work can accomplish. We are thankful God gave us such a beautiful day with great competition. We had some really good marks today, but while those are important, the more important thing was the sense of community based on Christ. This is a special team, and I am honored to be able to lead them.”…
