Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2025 Inductees
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed its class of 2025, a mix of rock mainstays and groundbreaking artists. Among the inductees is iconic singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper, adding a vibrant splash of color to a predominantly male roster.
This year’s seven inductees represent a more traditional rock lineup compared to the diverse classes of recent years, with Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast a notable exception. The honorees are:
- Bad Company
- Chubby Checker
- Joe Cocker
- Cyndi Lauper
- Outkast
- Soundgarden
- The White Stripes
The induction ceremony will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on November 8th and broadcast live on Disney+. Hulu subscribers can stream the event the following day, and a condensed version will air on ABC at a later date.
While veteran jam band Phish won the fan vote by a significant margin, they did not secure a spot in this year’s class. Winning the fan vote doesn’t guarantee induction, as evidenced by Phish becoming only the second artist since the Dave Matthews Band in 2020 to top the fan vote but not be inducted in the same year.
Beyond the performer inductions, the Rock Hall will also present several special awards. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award.
Musical Excellence honors will be bestowed upon Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye. And the Ahmet Ertegun Award will go to esteemed producer and record executive Lenny Waronker.
