Duchess Meghan Opens Up About Family Life and Parenting on Podcast

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently appeared on “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” podcast, offering a heartwarming glimpse into her family life with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Speaking with Lima, a longtime friend and the founder of IT Cosmetics, Meghan discussed her approach to parenting and shared a unique way she’s documenting her children’s lives.

A Modern Scrapbook for the Digital Age

During the podcast, Meghan revealed she’s creating a virtual scrapbook for Archie and Lili. Almost every night, she emails them anecdotes and photos, capturing everyday moments that might otherwise be forgotten.

“It doesn’t have to be a heavy lift,” she explained, offering examples like sharing a funny comment from the day or a picture of them having breakfast. Meghan sees this as a modern equivalent to traditional scrapbooks and photo albums, a “time capsule” to give her children when they reach adulthood.

She envisions presenting the email accounts to them around age 16 or 18, a collection of loving messages and memories spanning their entire lives.

Meghan’s Parenting Philosophy: Love and Learning

The Duchess emphasized the importance of showing her children how deeply they are loved. “I know that they’ll feel like, ‘Oh my gosh, no one has ever loved someone more than the way our mom loved us,'” she shared, adding that she puts this into practice every day.

Meghan also revealed she reads parenting books, striving to be the best mother she can be. She believes that while much of parenting comes naturally, there are always helpful tools and resources to learn from.

A California Life and a Strong Partnership

Meghan and Harry are raising their children in California, largely out of the public eye. While glimpses of Archie and Lili occasionally appear on Meghan’s social media, their faces are kept private.

On the podcast, Meghan spoke lovingly of her husband, describing their relationship as being in a honeymoon phase. She praised Harry’s dedication to their family’s safety and happiness, emphasizing his handsome looks and even more beautiful heart.

The couple, who met in 2016 and married in 2018, stepped back from their roles as senior royals in 2020 and have since built a life together in Montecito, California.
