Emergency demos, interactive displays are hit at Safety Festival

PORT ST. LUCIE — The 2025 Safety Festival, held annually at Clover Park stadium, remains one of the most attended community events in St. Lucie County. The festival brings together vendors, presenters, and local government agencies that handle emergencies and hazards year-round, offering a full day of demonstrations, educational exhibits, and family-friendly fun.

The event’s main goal is to inform and engage residents about a variety of emergency topics — from law enforcement and firefighting to weather-related incidents like hurricanes and tornadoes.

One of the event’s biggest draws is the live demonstration by police K-9 units. These specially trained dogs demonstrate how they detect narcotics and assist in apprehending suspects attempting to flee. The SWAT team also performs high-intensity demonstrations, showcasing how they execute felony arrests using an armored vehicle to safely stop and detain suspects in motion…
