NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A case of animal cruelty is sparking outrage and renewed calls for stronger animal protection laws in central Arkansas.
On Sunday, a kitten was discovered tied up inside a mesh bag and abandoned near the Caterpillar plant off Faulkner Lake Road in North Little Rock.

The cat, later named “Caterpillar,” was rescued after a concerned caller from the plant alerted local animal advocates.
“This cat had been found in this bag,” Sarah Richardson, administrator for Community Cats of Central Arkansas, said. “It was so tied up and knotted that she couldn’t even move, so in that case, it’s just straight abuse.”…
