Spokane’s Ferris High students get fishing gear boost from state biologist

SPOKANE, Wash. – Ferris High School’s Fishing Club received a donation of 17 fishing reels from Fish Biologist Randy Osborne with the Washington State Department of Wildlife.

These reels will pair with rods donated by another group, equipping all 60 club members, WDFW said in a release.

The club meets during lunch to learn skills like knot tying, ice safety, and cold water survival. They also get certified in CPR and first aid, and organize fundraising for fishing tournaments…
