Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs stumbled against high level opponents in the regular season last year, ultimately pulling together enough quad 1 wins down the stretch to earn a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament – where the program’s nine year streak of making the Sweet 16 came to an end in the Round of 32 against No. 1 seed Houston.
It was a disappointing season for the Zags, who saw four of the team’s five starters – Ryan Nembhard, Nolan Hickman, Khalif Battle, and Ben Gregg – exhaust eligibility while reserves Dusty Stromer , Michael Ajayi , and Jun Seok Yeo hit the transfer portal.
While Gonzaga is returning star big men Graham Ike and Braden Huff, and has replacements on hand in redshirt guards Braeden Smith and Jalen Warley, the team has yet to land a single player in the transfer portal as of this writing, which has some fans concerned about the future of the program…
