A dried-up former irrigation pond north of Vistoso Highlands Drive shall be filled once more.
On April 16, the Oro Valley Town Council voted 4-2 in support of a phased approach that would first replenish the 2.5-acre pond with reclaimed water. Then, over time, amenities such as parking, a half-acre of turf, desert landscaping and a ramada may be placed on the 5.5-acre site.
The town would seek grants and potential donations for those improvements, according to the motion put forth by Vice Mayor Melanie Barrett. She also wants town staff to take the project “in house,” and solicit bids itself to reduce project expenses…
