Illinois State Police arrest suspect in Chicago expressway shooting within 12 hours

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Less than 12 hours after he allegedly opened fire on another driver on a Chicago expressway, Illinois State Police said they identified and arrested the suspect for attempted murder.

According to ISP, on April 27th, Chicago Police notified the agency of a shooting on Interstate 94 northbound near 71st Street. In the incident, the victim’s vehicle suffered bullet damage, but both the driver and passenger escaped unharmed.

ISP agents identified Freddie Jones, 33, of Chicago, as the suspect and were able to take him into custody…
