Police called 4 times in 8 hours for man’s alleged assault and restraining order violation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Missouri officers have cited legal statutes as the reason why a Gladstone man was released from custody shortly after an alleged assault, allowing him to reportedly return and break an emergency protection order.

Michael Samuel Sharp III is currently booked in the Clay County Detention Center on two charges stemming from an alleged series of incidents on April 27, 2025.

According to court documents, officers were called to a home in Gladstone at 4:22 a.m. for an active disturbance. They spoke to Sharp and the victim, who the officers learned were in a relationship and living together. The disturbance was only verbal, and there seemed to be no indication of violence, so the officers gave Sharp a ride to his parents’ home…
