Kansas fugitive arrested in Kearney after 18 years on the run

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) – A fugitive who was on the run for nearly two decades for crimes committed in Johnson County, Kansas, is now behind bars after being spotted in a Kearney, Missouri, neighborhood Sunday night.

On Monday, the Kearney Police Department shared a post on Facebook saying that officers received a call about a suspicious car loitering in the Greenfield neighborhood.

Police told WDAF-TV the man was scoping out houses in a van.

When officers arrived to investigate, it was reported they got behind the driver and saw him commit a traffic violation. As a result, police contacted him and discovered he did not have any form of identification, including a driver’s license or a Social Security number…
