WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Tanganyika Wildlife Park is in the running to be named “Best Animal Encounter in the U.S.” Newsweek nominated Tanganyika for the honor after getting public input, expert opinions, and editorial staff recommendations.
Tanganyika was also nominated last year and came in second . Since then, the wildlife park has added even more animal encounters and experiences for guests.

“Our mission has always been to create personal connections between people and animals to inspire stewardship of rare and endangered species,” Matt Fouts, executive director, said in a news release. “Being recognized by Newsweek and our supporters is a humbling reminder that those close-up moments are making a real impact.”
