PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Police arrested a 21-year-old suspect Tuesday night in connection with a shooting that left a father critically injured.
According to court documents, the victim’s daughter had been trying to enter the East Portland Community Center on April 23 when she was blocked by a man and his girlfriend. The man, later identified as Amir Jahon Christianson, was asked to leave the center for disruptive behavior and for being verbally abusive towards the 16-year-old girl.
Police say the girl called her father to pick her up. When the father drove up to the area of NE 106th Avenue and Stark Street, police say Christianson fired several shots into the vehicle. The man was shot several times, and his friend, who was also in the car, ended up driving him to the emergency room at Portland Adventist Medical Center…
