Twelve shots were fired in rapid succession during a fatal police shooting with a wrong-way driver in early April, according to newly released police body camera footage.
In the footage, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and Union Township police officers are seen surrounding a red Ford SUV jammed up against the interstate’s concrete barrier by a trooper’s squad car. The trooper had intentionally crashed his cruiser into the SUV to stop 34-year-old Kelsey Hildal, who highway patrol troopers said was traveling north in the southbound lanes of the interstate around 11 p.m.
A trooper, who is heard in the video saying Hildal had a firearm, yells several times for her to put her hands up. Then, as Union Township officers arrive and begin approaching the car, 12 shots ring out in rapid succession…
