With federal REAL ID enforcement beginning next week, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) plans to host a series of REAL ID Days at driver license centers across the state.
Getting a REAL ID is optional in Pennsylvania, however beginning May 7, travelers will need to present a REAL ID or another form of federally acceptable identification (such as a valid passport or military ID) to board a domestic commercial flight, and enter a military base or other federal facility that requires ID at the door.
