Carroll teacher, custodian honored by Northwest Allen County Schools

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Wednesday, officials with Northwest Allen County Schools recognized two people who have made an impact on fellow faculty members as well as students and their families.

Jim Walker, who teaches biology and AP environmental science at Carroll High School, was awarded Teacher of the Year. He’s been leaving his mark on Carroll classrooms for 18 years.

“Known for his ability to connect classroom learning to real-world issues, Mr. Walker inspires students to think critically and stay engaged,” NACS said in a press release that compiled the feedback included with their nominations. “His classroom is a place where high expectations are met with strong support, and his thoughtful approach to teaching has helped countless students grow both academically and personally.”

Linda Faylor, a custodian at Carroll, was awarded Staff Member of the Year. Faylor has worked for NACS for 17 years, over half of which have been spent at Carroll…
