Now Open: New Bakeshop brings taste of home and community to Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — From the Philippines to Dubai and now the Texas Panhandle, Lotis Estvander is baking more than just croissants; she’s building community.

Estvander, co-owner of Lotis Bakeshop in Amarillo, said baking helped her adjust to a new culture when she moved to the U.S. more than two years ago. After searching for the flaky croissants she loved while working in Dubai, she decided to make them herself, and soon discovered a new passion.

“I found food to be the best way for me to connect with people,” Estvander said. “From then, I kind of experimented with baking, and I found passion with croissants.”
