GREENSBURG — A St. Helena Parish sheriff’s deputy employee has been terminated and arrested. bringing drugs and other contraband into the jail. Gregory Goods, of Denham Springs, was arrested in Livingston Parish as a fugitive for St. Helena.
Goods, 56, had worked as a jailer at the St. Helena Parish Jail since April 2024. Officials learned he was allegedly bringing cigarettes, drugs and cell phone cards into the jail. It’s what led up to his termination.
Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Goods as a St. Helena fugitive. He was later transported to the St. Helena Parish Jail to be booked on the following charges:
- 1 count of malfeasance in office
- 5 counts of contraband defined, taking to and from penal institutions
- 2 counts of distribution/possession with the intent to distribute schedule I CDS
