Man charged in hostage situation, dangerous chase near Lincoln takes second plea deal

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The man charged in a dangerous pursuit in Waverly and a hostage situation in Seward County has taken a plea deal in Lancaster County.

Court records show 34-year-old Trenton Engel entered a plea of no contest to six felony charges on Wednesday.

He was found guilty of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest using a deadly weapon, use of a vehicle to avoid arrest, criminal mischief, terroristic threats and a third DUI…
