On March 26, a pedestrian lost her life in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on South Jones Boulevard just north of West Fairbanks Road, Las Vegas. The tragic event unfolded early in the morning when, according to evidence and video surveillance, a white midsize Sport Utility Vehicle struck the victim who may have been sitting or kneeling on the road at that time. The vehicle involved did not stop, fleeing northbound, leaving the woman critically injured. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section followed up on the case and, through investigations, successfully identified and located the driver and vehicle on March 28. Ji Yang, 34, was arrested and is facing charges for his involvement in the incident that left a 43-year-old female pedestrian dead, her identity remains pending notification of kin.
