ICE: Man charged with Troy stabbings has ties to L.A. gang

TROY — A 24-year-old Mexican man charged with attempted murder in two separate stabbings in South Troy on different days last month also has alleged ties to organized crime, according to federal authorities.

Albino Zacarias-Garcia, who had allegedly been in the United States illegally since September, spoke to U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents shortly after he was arrested by Troy police in early April in connection with the stabbings.

“During the interview with ICE officers on April 3, Zacarias not only confirmed to be illegally present in the U.S, but he also admitted to being a member of the criminal street gang ‘Barrio13’,” an ICE spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday…
