Northmont Schools facing further cuts if levy fails again

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — One school district is facing more cuts if a levy does not pass, causing stress to their day-to-day operations.

Northmont Local School District had to close one school building after the last levy failed, in addition to more than 40 staff members being cut. School officials are hoping for a better outcome this time around, as they face even more cuts if next week’s levy does not pass.

On May 6, residents with the Northmont School District — Clayton, Englewood, Union, Clay Township, and Philipsburg — will vote on another emergency levy. This is the third time an emergency levy has been placed on the ballot, after two previous levies in 2023 failed…
