KETTERING, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A recognizable building where a Mexican restaurant operated for a number of years in Kettering will soon be no more.
Located in the 3600 block of Wilmington Pike, the former Pepito’s Mexican Restaurant is set to be demolished. Tom Robillard, director of planning and development for Kettering, said the city is working with the current property owner on the grant agreement for demolition.
When WDTN arrived to the building on April 30, two letters were visibly posted on the front entrance of the building:
- Notice to abate a public notice (dated June 14, 2022)
- Notice of intent to demolish and abate nuisance (dated Feb. 13)
During the March 25 Kettering City Council Meeting, councilmembers approved a resolution to approve a demolition grant agreement for the property. The estimated cost in budget was estimated at $50,000…
