TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (TNND) — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday announced its week-long immigration sting in partnership with the state of Florida is a “preview of what is to come” for immigration enforcement in the U.S.
ICE described the sting, dubbed “Operation Tidal Wave” as a first of its kind partnership between federal and local law enforcement. It reported the arrests of 800 illegal immigrants during the first four days of the operation.
