20-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash on Platte

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A 20-year-old woman has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a crash just east of Downtown Colorado Springs on Thursday, April 17.

The rider was identified by the El Paso County Coroner as 20-year-old Chelsie Willing.

According to CSPD, officers responded to the crash around 5:20 on April 17 at the intersection of East Platte Avenue and North Prospect Street. The investigation revealed that a car was driving southbound on Prospect and stopped for the stop sign, then proceeded into the roadway. The motorcycle, heading westbound, hit the car in the intersection.

When officers arrived, they found Willing on the road with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving measures by first responders, she died of her injuries.

According to CSPD, the original report indicated that the crash was a possible hit-and-run, but that was not the case. All parties involved remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation…
