FORT PIERCE – A series of attempts by Hometown News to arrange an “introductory” news interview with Fort Pierce’s new city manager Richard Chess ended Thursday when the city issued a statement saying, “At this time, Mr. Chess will not be conducting interviews.”
The media outlet began contacting Chess for a question-and-answer session after he was initially tapped for the city’s top administrative job.
He responded shortly after assuming the position in April, committing to setting a date for a sit-down. And as recently as Wednesday, Hometown News communicated with staff in the city manager’s office, agreeing to offer a written list of some of the potential interview questions…
