Unions, community rallies in Cedar Rapids on International Workers’ Day

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — This International Workers’ Day, trade unions and community members rallied at the Cedar Rapids downtown library to advocate for workers’ rights.

International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day, is celebrated on May 1st.

Thursday’s events are part of the worldwide day of fighting for employees in all types of trades and lines of work amid funding cuts and layoffs.
