Man crashes SUV into Lincoln home after fleeing officers, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Police said the man who crashed his vehicle into the garage of a home Thursday morning was under the influence and trying to flee from officers.

According to Lincoln Police, officers initially responded to a disturbance at a park near UNL East Campus around 2:40 a.m. There, they found 25-year-old Tyler Belk of Lincoln sitting inside a black 2022 Honda Pilot. When officers tried to approach, Belk fled the scene with his vehicle’s lights off.

Police say they attempted a traffic stop as Belk sped south down N. 35th Street toward Vine but ultimately ended the pursuit…
