Gun found in second grader’s pocket at St. Paul elementary school

ST PAUL, Minn. — St. Paul police say a gun was recovered after a second grader reportedly brought it to school to show friends Thursday.

The incident happened at Bruce Vento Elementary School at 409 Case Ave E. on the city’s east side. A police spokesman confirms that squads were dispatched after reports of a student with a gun. When police arrived a staff member told them that a gun was found in a student’s pocket.

Officers recovered the handgun and were told that the second grader brought it to school to show friends. No one was injured and police say there is no continuing threat to students or the school…
