Loris High School math teacher McKenzie Brown was named the 2026 Horry County Schools Rookie Teacher of the Year on Thursday, May 1.
HCS superintendent Clifford Jones spoke at HCS Scholars Academy High School on Thursday and presented Brown with the honor. Jones complimented all five HCS finalists ahead of presenting Brown with her award.
