A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 10:11 p.m. for thunderstorms and gusty showers until Saturday at 12:15 a.m. for Carbon, Monroe, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
“A cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving across the Lehigh Valley this evening will bring potential for brief wind gusts near 40 MPH. This cluster will move into New Jersey after 11 p.m. The winds could bring down small or weak tree limbs or cause isolated power outages. Seek shelter indoors if you hear any thunder,” according to the weather service.
