Man convicted of killing 1-year-old while the baby’s mom was at work

WALESKA, Ga. (TCN) — A 27-year-old man has been convicted of causing fatal injuries to a baby consistent with shaking.

The Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced that a jury found Gregory Davis Jr. guilty on May 1 of malice murder, felony murder, first-degree cruelty to children, and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers. Davis’ sentencing will be set at a later date.

According to prosecutors, on April 28, 2021, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive baby, identified as 1-year-old James “Jamie” Marco Palcio. The victim’s mother was at work at the time, and Davis was the only adult caring for the child…
